The Virtual Marketing Company is a marketing support consultancy. Nigel Abbey Design was invited to create a new brand to re-launch the company following the appointment of two senior consultants.

The brief was to create a brand identity that would work in all media including print and in particular the web. The design had to be cost effective and very flexible because each consultant works from a remote site. Furthermore all the contact details varied from item to item.

The Design Solution
To convey the idea of having flexible marketing support available at any time, a large 'VIRTUAL' logo is present on every item: this acts as a powerful backdrop conveying strength, by its mere size, and subtlety by having this rendered as a tint. The illusion of 'virtual reality' is further enhanced by the reversed back print which acts like a watermark on the letterhead (see visuals above).

The design concept fulfills the brief criteria:

- strong visual identity
- acts as 'a backdrop' providing flexible communication tools
- low cost single colour solution
- can be easily overprinted by in-house laserprinters
- will work in all media including electronic
